NARS Narsissist Loaded Palette

The beauty world is becoming pretty saturated with neutral palettes these days, it’s pretty hard for new releases to add anything new or different to the existing offerings out there… But the new NARSissist ‘Loaded’ eyeshadow palette in Strike It Rich caught my attention for all the right reasons.

The selection of 12 warm-toned mostly neutral shades varies from warm copper to pale terracotta, deep navy and rich chocolate. The golden mirrored compact houses such a varied selection of shades that push the boundary of being neutral. A great thing because it makes the palette really diverse for creating different looks, from earthy daytime looks to full on smokey eyes.

I also love the combination of matte and shimmer, I think they’ve got that element spot on for this palette. They also have some amazing pale blending shades (the ones on the right in the picture below – barely visible, they blend seamlessly into the skin – perfect for smooth blending). The pigmentation and texture are pretty spot on for most of the shadows, the best being the metallic ones, with a few weak spots in the darker matte brown tones. They aren’t that level of super-pigmented that means you have to be wary of the deeper shades, but the perfect balance of pigmentation and blendability that makes them easy to use, even if you’re in a bit of a hurry.

Shades (L-R): Newbury Street, Windsor, Priviliege, Dover, Foix, Castille, Alnwick, Beaumaris, Splendor, Versailles, Montaillou, Reale

This palette has been available in House of Fraser for the past month, but hits NARS counters nationwide from today. It’s pricey at £55 but the quality is outstanding and really will cover all your bases. I’m a big fan.
