This week I’m super excited to be able to share something I shot last week with one of my all time favourite high street brands, Rimmel. Rimmel are launching a brand new beauty and fashion series called ‘Rimmel Road Trip’ this year and I’m super excited that they asked me to be part of the very first episode!
Each month, Rimmel are asking a beauty blogger to take one of their other blogger friends on a road trip to their hometown and to show them the sights! I was really excited to be paired with my friend Em Ford (from MyPaleSkin – if you don’t already follow her, you should – she seriously knows her stuff when it comes to makeup and make the coolest halloween videos on YouTube… fact!)
Em hails from just outside Cardiff, so we headed of in Rimmel‘s red mini (which I was obviously super excited about – as many of you guys will know, I’m obsessed with minis!) We had such an awesome day exploring the city, visiting lots of the places you guys recommended to us on Instagram and some of Em’s old haunts from her teenage years too!

In this post, I also wanted to share a bit more detail about the looks I wore on the day for both the daytime and the evening, in case you guys wanted to know (lots of you often ask!)
Daytime Look
For the day time, I went for a take on my everyday makeup look, using one of my all time favourite foundations, Rimmel‘s Match Perfection, and one of their new Scandal’eyes eyeshadow palettes in ‘Keep Calm and Go For Gold’ (my personal favourite) I also discovered a new mascara favourite on the trip in the form of Rimmel‘s Wake Me Up mascara – I’ve used all the other products in the Wake Me Up range before but never the mascara and it’s amazing if you want lots of volume and length, but still quite a defined look. You can build it up to be really dramatic, but it’s not clumpy at all so it works really well for both daytime wear and evening. I’m also wearing my favourite nude that Rimmel do, the Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipstick ‘My Nude’ (I reviewed the whole range of these new anniversary edition lipsticks last summer, check out the full review here)

Evening Look
For the evening, I went for a bit of a vintage look, inspired by our day in Cardiff (we found an amazing vintage shop and I ended up buying a 60’s dress – check out the full video above to check it out!) So I amped up the look using some darker matte shades from the same eyeshadow palette, a classic winged cat-eye using Rimmel‘s Colour Precise liquid liner, a little of the Scandal’Eyes nude eyeliner on the waterline to give me more more of a wide-eyed 60’s look and deep burgundy lip using another new discovery from the range that Em recommended, the Lasting Finish lipstick in Starry Eyed (as you guys can probably guess, I’m also a big fan of the name!) I kept the base the same, just layered it up for a little more coverage and use two different shades of the Lasting Finish concealer to help sculpt my face a little more.
