Fragrance Friday: Viva La Juicy LA FLEUR!

I know, I know… It’s actually Saturday, but I thought you’d all forgive me for being a few hours late in posting about this week’s fragrance, seeing as it’s a seriously good one…

I was out and about in London yesterday and got the chance to have a sneaky peek (and smell!) of Juicy Couture’s new addition to their fragrance collection. As a huge ‘Viva La Juicy’ fan, I was excited to learn that the new scent is not only a spin off of the original best-seller for the brand, but it’s also called ‘La Fleur’!

Seeing as my name does mean flower ‘en francais’, Fleur does crop up as a fragrance name every now and again, but none the less I still get excited when I see it emblazoned across a bottle (especially if it so happens to be tied with a pink chiffon ribbon and dripping with golden Juicy Couture charms!)

OK enough gushing… if you can’t tell by how sickeningly excited I am to tell you all about this fragrance… I also happen to LOVE the smell.

It’s very similar to the original, with a few more floral notes. The main addition being Water Lily, I think it really adds a fresh, summery feel to the scent.

I’m not normally a huge fan of ‘Floral’ fragrances (see last week’s review of Marc Jacobs Dot for more on this). This scent however, is not overpowering in the slightest. To me it doesn’t smell that much more floral than the original. It still shares the same floral heart notes of Jasmine, Gardenia and Honeysuckle. It’s a light and girly alternative to the original and I’m absolutely in love with it. It seems to last a little longer on my skin than the original too (always a bonus).

I can see this very quickly becoming one of my most worn scents. I love it.

This will be available exclusively from Selfridges from 30th August, and nationwide from 17th September. Available in 40ml, 75ml and 150ml EDT for £34, £46 and £62 respectively.

It’s already out in the US so I’m sure some of you will have already tried it. I’d love to hear what you all think!?
