Want to Smell Like Beyonce?

The latest celebrity to jump on the fragrance band wagon is Beyonce. Although she has been involved with various Armani perfume launches in the past, ‘Heat’ is actually Beyonce’s first fragrance to be released under her own name. It actually launched in the U.S back in February and has been outselling Chanel apparently! I decided to see what all the hype was about…

The first impression I get from this perfume is that I’m not a huge fan of the packaging. I know some people love the combination of red and black, but for me it’s a little to obviously ‘sexy’. The bottle is not much better either. It’s designed to look like a burning fire, but in my opinion it looks very dated and combined with the packaging, something about it looks a little cheap.

Judging on the packaging, and Beyonce’s public persona, I was expecting the fragrance to be very sexy and musky (not normally what I go for in a fragrance) but when I smelt the perfume itself I was pleasantly surprised. It’s actually very fruity, with delicate floral notes too. I’m no expert at describing perfume so here’s the blurb:

“The fragrance opens with a radiant floral bouquet of magnolia, neroli and red vanilla orchid balanced with a kiss of luscious blush peach. At its heart, almond macaroon, sweet honeysuckle nectar and crème de musk combine to create an exquisitely sensual experience. Finally, warm and sexy notes of giant sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber linger to seduce the senses.”The perfume is actually surprisingly sweet at first, but settles into a much deeper, more subtle scent that is perfect for the day time. Perfume is obviously a personal choice, but I can see why this has been selling by the bucket load in the states.

If you like sweet perfumes like Escada, Britney Spears and Juicy Couture but you want a slightly more mature scent, then this is one for you. It’s not my all time favourite fragrance, but one which I enjoy and will use on a regular basis.

Heat is available in stores nation wide now. It is priced at £23 for 30ml and £29 for 50ml (both Eau de Parfum).

What do you reckon ladies… Will you be dashing out to get a whiff of this? Any die hard Beyonce fans already got their hands on it?

Woof is certainly a fan…
