Terre De Lumière

Today’s post is a collaboration with a favourite brand of mine, L’Occitane en Provence. My mum has been such a huge fan of L’Occitane for years and the brand therefore ignites really fond memories for me. Whenever I use it, it reminds me of my mum. I saw the campaign for this new launch a few months ago and I’ve been dying to share it with you all ever since as it’s simply beautiful…

This month L’Occitane is launching their new fragrance, Terre de Lumière. It’s inspired by the ‘golden hour’ of sunset in Provence, France. I’m going to embed the ad campaign video below so you can understand just how beautiful it is, and why they would be inspired to create a fragrance around this magical moment. I’ve never experienced it myself but after watching this footage, I know that one day I simply have to see it in person – it’s beyond beautiful, and the imagery for the fragrance is mesmerising.

The fragrance is a smooth aromatic gourmand that is sweet, yet sophisticated and feminine. I love the concept of it being inspired by light, and I almost want to describe the fragrance itself as ‘glowing’ even though I know that doesn’t really make sense. The top notes are actually quite fresh, with Bergamot and Pink Pepper, but they dry down quickly into an intoxicating, velvety veil of scent.

The smooth sweetness is thanks to the dominant heart note of Lavender Honey, although neither the lavender or the honey stand out alone in the scent. It’s balanced out by a musky base of White Musk, Tonka Bean and Bitter Almond. It’s warm, comforting and feminine.
With Mother’s Day coming up, it would definitely make a perfect choice for a gift for your mum, but at the same time I think that this scent is truly ageless. I wear this, but I can also imagine my sister, mum or grandma also wearing it. It’s one of those universal, timeless scents.

L’Occitane have been kind enough to give me 100 miniature (5ml) bottles of the fragrance to give away to you guys, so if you’d like to get your hands on one and try this gorgeous fragrance out, all you have to do is head over to the L’Occitane website here. The competition is open for two weeks, so head over now!

Terre de Lumiére is available now from L’Occitane stores, retailers and online here. It’s available in 50ml and 90ml for £58 and £78 respectively and there’s also a shower get and body lotion as part of the collection.
