MAC X Caitlyn Jenner – Finally Free Lipstick

MAC’s latest celebrity collaboration launches in the UK today and I was lucky enough to get my hands on an advance sample to try this week. Finally Free is a rather special lipstick as it sits outside of the Viva Glam family, but shares the same charity principles. It’s been developed in collaboration with Caitlyn Jenner and all of the RRP value (minus VAT) goes directly to help the transgender community in the UK.

I’ve always been a supporter of the MAC Viva Glam initiative as most brands’ charity products donate only a small portion of the value directly to the charity, and in the 22 years since its launch, it has raised hundreds millions of dollars for AIDS charities all over the world. I was happy to see that this principle has been extended to directly benefit the transgender community for Jenner’s collaboration with the brand, making both the product AND the cause personal to Caitlyn herself…

The cause aside, the product itself is also absolutely gorgeous. A totally wearable, deep nude with a pretty mauve undertone, it’s a cremesheen formula so it’s rich, creamy texture with a natural sheen to it that is extremely comfortable to wear. It’s a perfect everyday got-to that I’m sure will quickly become a staple in many peoples makeup stash. I love the fact that Caitlyn created such a wearable, everyday colour as I think this will be a shade that people will repurchase time and time again, and will therefore raise a huge amount of money for the cause.

Finally Free is available online here, priced at £15.50.
