I’m so excited to finally be writing this post! Many months ago, I had my first meeting with Eylure. Being asked to have a meeting with a brand I use regularly and adore was fabulous enough, but when they then asked me how I would feel about creating my own range with them, I couldn’t quite believe it. The following months were a whirlwind of design meetings, photo shoots and endless emails. I’m so unbelievably proud to share the result with you today.
The collection itself consists of four designs, all inspired by styles that I personally look for when shopping for lashes…
Each design is of the quality you’d expect from Eylure (i.e. the best on the market, in my opinion at least!) Each of the strip lashes is attached to the tray by a light sticky pad. A signature feature of Eylure’s lashes, I love this as it stops the band from becoming miss-shapen when you remove them from the packaging. Each of the lashes are also made with stone ground, tapered lash tips. This is a new technology for Eylure, and I feel pretty honoured that they’ve let me use it for this collection, as it makes such a subtle, yet noticeable difference to how natural the lashes look. I think together they make the perfect lash wardrobe, and I hope that those of you who decide to try any of the styles out love them as much as I do!
So let’s take a look at each of the designs a little more closely…
‘Fleur Loves’ – As the name would suggest, these are my personal favourite lashes in the line up (I hate to choose favourites, but I simply adore these lashes!) They are 3/4 length strip lashes, so you won’t need to trim them to get the perfect fit. They have a semi-dramatic flare on the outer corners, so look perfect with a cat eye or liquid liner. The design itself is quite textured and messy, adding serious drama to your eye makeup. They also have a super lightweight, invisible band so are almost undetectable on the eyes and even better, they are so light you can barely feel them when you’re wearing them, making these my perfect day-to-night lashes. I can literally wear these all day and forget I have them on, they are the most comfortable lashes I’ve ever worn.
‘Simply Fleur’ – Next up are the most demure lashes in the collection. These are a lightweight strip lash, again with an invisible band for subtle enhancement of your natural lashes. The band itself is ‘petite’ (something I learnt about in the design process, it basically means it’s shorter than full length lashes, so some people might not have to trim these either, I don’t). These are perfect daytime lashes for those of you who are lash enthusiasts and wear them every day, or the perfect first lash for those who have been scared of wearing falsies in the past.
‘Couture Fleur’ – Next up for the individuals. I’ve been obsessed with Eylure’s indiviual cluster lashes for quite some time now, but I always end up using all the medium length ones and throwing the pack away without finishing the short and long ones. Therefore the first thing I did when designing my own individual lashes was to change the ratio of lengths to 2/3rds medium, the rest short, with a few long ones for the very outer corner of the eye. The second change we made was to make them knot free. This means that the lashes are stuck together at the base (rather than tied) so you loose that tell-tale little black dot on the lash line that is created by the knot. Then we added a couple of extra hairs in to each cluster to make them look fuller, and the resulting effect is a customisable lash look that is virtually undetectable. I also love that they come with special glue that (different to the latex glue that comes with strip lashes) is designed to stick to the base of your natural lashes (rather than the skin) and will therefore last for 2-3 days (perfect for special occasions, festivals, romantic weekends away or just looking fabulous in general!) The pack also comes with a vial of oil-based remover, so you can take them off when you want to (quick tip: to make them last the full 2-3 days, don’t use any oil-based face products, and be very careful when removing your other makeup).
‘Fleur & Fabulous’ – Last but not least, the most dramatic lash of the bunch. These are my ultimate girls night out lashes. They are dark and dramatic with a unique woven effect at the base of the lashes for added depth. The thicker black band makes them easy to apply, and they look absolutely killer with a smokey eye. I think these are the perfect choice for lash lovers, as they are something a little different to what is usually available in the shops. The tapered tips add a little softness to the look and balance out the lash really nicely I think.
The collection will be available exclusively in Boots stores across the UK and online (here) NOW! The prices range from £5.25 for ‘Fleur Loves’ to £6.95 for the ‘Couture Fleur’ individuals. There have also been lots of questions about international availability. I can confirm that they will be available in the US early next year, and we are still confirming in which retailers, and international availability elsewhere. I’m HOPING to get them released in Australia and Canada too so I will keep you updated on that. They should also be coming soon to feelunique.com (who offer international delivery!) so those of you who live elsewhere, and want to get your hands on them ASAP, that will be the quickest way! I really am so proud of this range, I can’t wait to hear what you guys think of them!
