Clear Your Head! Clarifying Hair Treatments: Review & Giveaway

Todays post is about two little gems that I have been using recently to help keep my hair shiny and free of build-up.

The first is Unite’s ‘Weekender’ Shampoo. Used once a week it promises to refresh your hair from a weeks worth of environmental stress and product use, deep cleaning without removing your hair’s natural oils. For those of you with a sweet tooth… this product smells just like refreshers (amazing!) which is a nice scent to accompany you in the shower I have to say.

As for it’s performance, it really does do what it says on the bottle! After using this my hair feels refreshed, light, soft and super clean without feeling ‘stripped’. I have to admit it is tempting to use this shampoo every time I wash my hair because it feels so wonderful afterwards, but that’s probably not a great idea, so I have managed to stick to once a week (sad face) for the past month, and I honestly look forward to being able to use this product – it’s wonderful!

While Unite boasts an impressive list of celebrity clients including Eva Longoria,Nina Dobrev, Lady Gaga, Kellan Lutz, Heidi Klum, Zac Efron and Katy Perry, it is only just establishing itself in the UK and Europe, and is quite a tricky little brand to get your hands on. You can pick it up in Harrods‘ Urban Retreat Salon, or Unite salons (their UK ‘Salon Locator’ is yet to be completed so watch this space) and it is priced at £12.50. On the plus side, if you do manage to get your mitts on a bottle of this stuff – expect it to last you a long time (based on my current use, I’d say this 236ml/8oz. bottle should last between 5-6 months!)

Moving on to my second ‘clarifying’ product, I’m sorry to say that I’m being blonde-ist!

Schwarzkopf’s latest addition to their ‘Blond Me’ range includes this strange little product that I was very skeptical of at first. The ‘Blonde Refreshing Foam Treatment’ is a thick, creamy foam that smells strongly of passionfruit (think mango and passionfruit J2O – Yum!)

You apply it to damp hair, leave for 5 minutes, then rinse. I’ve never come across a product like this before (excuse me if there are many and I have poor knowledge of this kind of thing, but in my experience at least… this is a little odd!) but I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised by it’s performance. These two products used together once a week, have left my hair feeling fabulous (especially if I’ve been using copious amounts of styling product that week!). If you have blonde hair, you’ll know it’s pretty hard to achieve ‘soft and shiny’ as opposed to ‘dry and frazzled’ but this passionfruit foam-stuff really does leave you with a nice shiny finish. I’m a big fan.

You can pick up the foam treatment for £11.25 from Schwarzkopf salons nationwide (call 01296314000 to find your nearest) or you can find it online here for only £10.45 including delivery (bargain!).

What’s the verdict guys? Like the look of either of these products?
