My Summer Skin Saviours

Hello Everyone!

I thought I’d share with you all the four products that have been my staple skin ‘saviours’ this year, both during my holidays and back home!

I am very concious of applying suffient sun protection for my skin, and like to use higher SPF sunscreen than most of my friends (and lecture them at length about skin damage too… snore!).

The first product, and one which I return to time and time again is Piz Buin’s One Day Long Sunscreen (SPF 30 in my case). I am a die hard fan of single application sunscreen as I hate reapplying throughout the day, especially on the beach. Sun cream and sand are just never going to be a good combination! I’ve tried P20 in the past and found it to be awfully greasy and stains your bikini if you’re not careful, but Piz Buin has yet to fail me three years in a row, and it smells divine too! At £19.49 it is pricey but you use half as much over the course of a holiday. I keep a beady eye out for 2 for 1 offers in Boots over the summer and stock up!

The second of my skin saviours is Melvita’s ‘Pro Sun’ Aftersun (£16) which is a lovely rich body-milk formula that smells like creme brule and leaves your skin feeling gorgeous. If you haven’t heard of (or tried!) Melvita products before, don’t let the boring-looking packaging fool you! they are a French Organic brand that are rapidly becoming one of my personal favourites. The Hydrastim Moisturising Gel (£20) has also been an essential for me this summer. I’ve been using this for a few months now and love the way it smooths and moisturises your skin while still being light and refreshing. It has a slight lemon scent, which would normally send me running for the hills but it’s actually subtle enough to be quite pleasant.

My final skin saviour comes in the form of Elizabeth Arden’s 8 Hour Cream Face Protectant with SPF 50 (£22). I’m sure many of you will be familiar with the original 8 Hour Cream formula, with which this shares the same distinctive scent. This is not similar in texture at all however, it’s light and easily absorbed into the skin (especially for such a high SPF!). The scent is not as overpowering as the original 8 Hour Cream and overall this is the nicest high factor face cream that I have used (MAC’s Prep and Prime equivalent is utter greasy rubbish, but that’s another story!).Hope this has given you a few ideas for protecting your skin over the summer months.

What is your essential Summer Skin Saviour this year?!
