The Christmas Party Dress

It’s that time of year again… with Christmas nearly upon us, I have to admit this year I was a little apprehensive about something I usually look forward to so much – choosing a Christmas Party outfit! Yes, definitely something to do with being 9 months pregnant on Christmas day, I’ll admit, but it’s always hard to choose as there are so many options out there, and when many of them include sequins sparkles and (this season especially…) constellations, it makes it hard to choose a favourite!
This year, House of Fraser asked me to collaborate with them to choose a festive party outfit, and to share some of my favourites from their selection with you, I have to say I was so happy with the outfit I found, I hope you like it too…
House of Fraser actually stock loads of different brands that you’d definitely be familiar with, but one which I didn’t realise they had exclusively is Issa (yes, the same Issa that shot to fame when the Duchess of Cambridge wore one of their dresses for her engagement shoot back in 2010.) As ofthis year, House of Fraser acquired the brand and have launched their first collection this season. There are a few classic styles from the Issa archive, but also some new ones, which is where this gorgeous shift dress comes in…
Obviously being pregnant, not all styles are an option for me at the moment, but this shift style works really well over my bump (a couple of sizes up from my normal size 10!) and I absolutely adore the heavily embellished neckline. Something I also love is that the embellishment continues onto the back of the dress too. It’s such a pretty detail, and so festive.
I decided to add a little colour and pair it with this gorgeous, full length red coat from Linea. It’s sometimes quite tricky to find coats that look great over more formal dresses, but I love this one as it works really well with the dress, but it’s also super warm as it’s a heavy wool blend. I’ve actually worn it a lot over the past month since I got it and have had so many compliments and questions about it, both from you guys online, but also in real life. It’s also a brilliant price point at £99 – such good value considering the quality. I was really impressed when it arrived and have been wearing it a lot with casual daytime outfits and more dressed up evenings too.

I paired the dress with my favourite simple black suede, block heels (similar ones here) . Like I said… I was so happy with the final outfit – would love to know what you think?
