TOPSHOP Festival Beauty & MEET UP!

I have some SUPER exciting news to share with you all today, which I hope you’ll be excited for too… To celebrate their awesome summer Festival Collection, TOPSHOP Beauty have invited me to host a very special, exclusive breakfast meet up THIS SUNDAY in one of my favourite shops in the whole WORLD… their London flagship store at Oxford Circus! If you want to know more, keep reading to the end and I will explain all!

But first, If you haven’t already seen the TOPSHOP Beauty Festival Collection, here’s a little run down of what to expect, and three of my favourite festival looks I’ve created using the new products….

LOOSE GLITTERS…

Of course, the main focus is glitter (a must have for any festival if you want to get creative with your makeup!) There are five different shades of loose Glitter, all in different sizes (£5 each). I was really excited when I saw these, as I love glitter for festivals but it can be tricky to find glitter that looks nice when used for makeup (the teeny tiny stuff sometimes ends up looking a bit like a rash if you get it wrong!) My personal favourite is the iridescent glitter as it allows you to create a more subtle look, whilst still doing something extra special with your makeup. They also have a little tube of Facial Glue (£5) that goes with the glitters to keep them in place all day (obviously an essential for a festival if you’re going to be dancing all day, you don’t want glitter all over your face!) It’s really easy to apply, you just dab on a little glue where you want to apply the glitter, then either place your glitter on individually for a more precise look, or dot it on with your finger tips for a more intense effect.

LOOK ONE – I’ve used the chunky blue hexagonal glitter ‘Flash’ on my eyelids in the picture above, over the top of my winged eyeliner for a seriously sparkly look – not one for the faint hearted, but fun for festival season and very easy and quick to do on yourself!

GLOW DOMES…

There are also two shades of iridescent cream highlighter ‘Glow Domes’ in ‘Galactic’ and ‘Zephyr’ (£9) for those of you who don’t feel brave enough to experiment with the glitter, these are really gorgeous for festival season and come in little domes for easy application (perfect for tents as you don’t even need a brush!) I also love layering these underneath the glitters on my cheekbones for an extra special sparkle.

LOOK TWO – I’ve layered the lighter shade ’Zephyr’ over my cheekbones, blending it in with my fingertips. Then I’ve dabbed on a little of the facial glue before applying the iridescent glitter in Periwinkle. I really like the effect this gives as it adds an additional dimension to the look, while the more subtle tones mean it isn’t a ‘scary’ look to wear, it’s really pretty and girly, and super easy to do!

LIP & CHEEK SMUDGE CRAYONS…

My favourite products in the line up however, are the ‘Lip and Cheek Smudge’ pencils (£8.50 each). These dual-ended crayons have a matte, blend-able colour on one end and a soft, domed brush on the other which is perfect for blending the colour out into a stain on your lips and cheeks. You can also layer them on more thickly for an awesome matte lip if you fancy something a little more bold.

There are four shades available. My personal favourite is the dark berry colour ‘Wilderness’ as I think it’s really versatile and looks equally as good on both the lips and the cheeks.

LOOK THREE – I’ve applied the crayon lightly onto the lips and smudged it out using the little buffing brush to create a messy, stained look, then done the same to my cheeks to pull the look together. It’s matching but because it has a messy, smudged look to it, it doesn’t look too ‘much’. I’ve then paired it with a simple, bronze smokey eye using TOPSHOP’s Smokey Eye Palette in Enigma (one of my personal favourites from their permanent line) and a couple of coats of the Party Proof Mascara (another great choice for festivals as it does NOT move!) I think this look would work really well for a festival if glitter isn’t your thing, as it’s quick and easy to do and stays put for ages thanks to the matte finish. The Lip and Cheek Smudges are really lovely products in general, whether you’re a festival go-er or not they are definitely worth checking out next time you’re in Topshop!
