BaByliss Diamond Waves

BaByliss have just launched a new range of hairstyling tools called the ‘Diamond’ range. Consisting of a hair dryer, straighteners and a waving wand, they are all designed to help leave your hair totally smooth, soft and frizz-free with their new ‘Diamond Radiance Shine System’.

I got the chance to give the new waving wand a little road test this week and I was really impressed. It’s quite an unusual shape with a thin, twisted barrel, so I was intrigued to see the type of curls it produced…

The barrel is also made of ‘diamond infused ceramic’ which apparently helps leave your hair extra shiny! I much prefer waving wands to traditional curling tongs, as they are so much easier to use thanks to the lack of a clip. I would however, recommend using the heat-proof glove that comes with the it if you’re not a seasoned waving pro as they are much easier to burn your hands on than tongs!

The curls produced by this wand are a soft, romantic wave. I brushed them out and sprayed in a little texturising spray for a more tousled look, and the result was really pretty. What’s even better is that they lasted for a full 2 days until I washed my hair again. They also have an adjustable heat setting which is great if you don’t like to use extreme heat on your hair. I tend to use my hair tools at 180-185’C for optimal styling with minimal damage. It heats up in about 40 seconds so there’s no waiting around either. All in all I was very impressed, and for £29.99 they are a lot cheaper than some of the other wands on the market. It’s found a firm place in my hair styling arsenal!

The new Diamond range is available in shops now, prices starting at £29.99. The straighteners are also meant to be great, with Paul Percival from Percy & Reed being a No.1 fan, I may just have to get my hands on those next! You can find out more info (and buy the range) on the BaByliss website here.
