Max Factor Flipsticks

Rumour on the beauty scene has it that lip art is going to be big this year. Why limit getting creative with colour to your eyes, right?

Well Max Factor have brought out six fun new dual-ended lipsticks with lip art specifically in mind. These ‘Flipsticks’ each comprise of two complimentary shades of highly pigmented lipstick each chosen by Max Factor’s Global Creative Design Director Pat McGrath. From bright fuchsia and baby pink combinations, to striking coral and shimmering gold, they make it easy to get creative with lip art.

To celebrate their release, Max Factor are holding a competition on their Facebook page encouraging you to be your own ‘lip artist’ and giving one lucky beauty enthusiast the opportunity to assist celebrity makeup artist Caroline Barnes on a Max Factor photo shoot. All you have to do is head over to Max Factor’s Facebook page from 14th May and enter your very own lip look!

To give you a few ideas, I got a little creative myself using a few of the Flipstick shades, along with a little bit of glitter and a few rhinestones… From the totally wearable daytime lip art look, to the totally out-there (slightly gothic!) purple glitter lips, I think you’ll agree it’s fun to get creative! I’d love to see your lip art creations!

Coral Sunset: The perfect day to night transition lip art… I created this look using the Flipstick in ‘Gipsy Red’. Apply the coral shade all over your lips as you would normal lipstick, then pack on the shimmering gold shade using a lip brush only to the center of your lips. This will make your lips look full and glamourous!

Pink Perfection: A similar look to before, but using the ‘Boreal Mauve’ to create an uber-girly lip look. The glitter (available from Superdrug) is optional but it definitely adds that little something extra!

Rhinestone Flip: Using the deeper shade in the ‘Bloomy Pink’ duo, I added a thin layer of pink gloss and topped it off with white a pink rhinestones. Not the most practical look in the world, but if you take beauty tips from Jessie J this will be right up your street!
Mixing Mauves: If you fancy something even more daring, try creating a two-tone lip look! I’ve used the deeper shade in ‘Boreal Mauve’ on the bottom lip, the lighter on the upper lip and topped it off with a deep purple pigment at the center of both.

Max Factor will also be hosting a fun photo booth event in Westfield Shepherds Bush from 6-8th July where you can come along and have your makeup done by a professional makeup artist and get your photos taken in the Max Factor photo booth. I’ll also be there on 7th July along with Caroline Barnes to join in on the Flipstick fun and meet any of you who can make it!
