The fabulous French organic skin care brand Melvita have just opened up shop in the lovely new St Martin’s Courtyard development just off Long Acre in London’s Covent Garden. The courtyard is not yet fully occupied but is already home to some lovely little shops including The White Company and Twenty8Twelve.
I popped along to the launch of the new flagship ‘Eco Store’ and was instantly taken with the little shop. Having only tried a handful of Melvita products in the past, I had never realised the full extent of the range, which encompasses everything from hair care to body, bath, baby, health supplements, men’s skin care, a large range of oils and even it’s own honey!
The design of the store fits very well with the brand ethos and mantra ‘Nature at Heart’, even having it’s own ‘living wall’ of plants to help oxygenate and purify the air in the store.
The prices are mid-range so it’s accessible to all ages and they have products to suit all skin types. I had a personal skin consultation with the manager of the store who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in advising suitable products for my skin.
As for products to try if you’re new to the brand, my personal favourite so far has been the wonderful Hydrastim moisturising gel (which i was raving about all summer!). It re-hydrates the skin, leaving it super-soft and plumped without feeling heavy or greasy. The perfect base for make up! (£20)
Another potential purchase that stood out to me was the ‘Christmas Skin Softeners’ set, a selection of three 30ml deluxe samples of the body lotion, body scrub and hand creme (£12.50). The perfect way to try out a few of their products without splashing too much cash, it would also make a great little stocking filler!
