Turning 28

A couple of weeks ago I celebrated turning 28 with some of my closest friends. We were away on holiday in Portugal and had the most lovely time relaxing in the sunshine, drinking homemade pina coladas and generally forgetting about our day-to-day lives. Today I’m posting my annual ‘What I Got For My Birthday’ video (one of my total guilty pleasures when it comes to watching YouTube myself – I love these videos) but this year I thought I would share a little insight into my actual birthday celebrations too. The older I get, the more I appreciate spending time with my friends. It gets harder and harder to get everyone together as free time gets scarcer and weekends get booked up months in advance. Receiving gifts is nice, but spending time with my friends is what birthdays are all about for me. Celebrating with nine of my favourite people in the world made my birthday extra special this year.

My dress is a gorgeous flowing number from Bec & Bridge – I actually borrowed this so I’m not sure on it’s current availability – it may well be next season, but if you haven’t heard of this brand I would 100% recommend checking them out. The fabrics they use are beautiful and their designs are so comfortable and flattering at the same time. They are an Aussie brand but you can find them online here. The shoes are from Carvela.
