MAC Viva Glam Ariana Grande

The latest celebrity to put their name to the MAC Viva Glam charity project is Ariana Grande. The collection of two products launched yesterday on the MAC website, and will be on counters in the UK from the 4th February. Having seen pictures of the products (and the almost BLACK looking lipstick!) I was really intrigued by the colour choices…

I managed to get my hands on a set to show you all today – let me know what you think and if you’d wear them?! Read on for a full review & swatches…
If you don’t know about the MAC Viva Glam products, the entire RRP (minus VAT) goes towards helping people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS, so if you’re going to treat yourself to a lipstick, you can do so knowing your money is going to a great cause. Seeing as there’s nothing quite like a brand new box-fresh MAC lipstick (oh, the smell of it… my guilty pleasure!) it makes treating yourself to every single Viva Glam product that MAC bring out pretty tempting!

For their collaboration with Ariana Grande, they have released one lipstick and one lipglass. The lipstick is a deep, matte plum shade that looks pretty scary in the bullet (as I said before, it looks straight up black in the product shots!) but once applied it’s really quite beautiful. Yes, it’s quite a gothic, dark look but if you like a statement lip then it’s definitely a good one! Sometimes purple lipstick can look very questionable, but this is the right tone of berry that is still flattering. The texture is really nice; impressively easy to apply and comfortable for a matte finish.

The lipglass is the polar opposite to the lipstick – a sheer pale pink with lots of glitter. I have to say I had hoped for a little more pigment from this one, but it actually looks really cool layered over the top of the lipstick (as I’ve shown below) and I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of this layering it over more neutral lipsticks too.

All in all, I’m a big fan of both of these! The lipstick is £15.50 and the gloss is £14.50, available now on the MAC website and on counters from 4th February! Will any of you be picking one or both of these up?!
