Three NYE Makeup Bag Updates!

Ahead of New Year’s Eve tomorrow night, I wanted to share with you three of my favourite products to instantly update your look for special occasions, especially suitable for NYE if you want to add a little sparkle to your New Year’s party look… without going OTT on the glitter!

First up is one of the most unique items in my makeup stash. It isn’t one I use all the time but it’s perfect for adding a little bit of sparkle and shimmer to your eyes without it looking tacky or OTT.

It’s Urban Decay’s ‘Solstice’. It’s a peachy-pink based duo-chrome shade with elements of green and purple and it’s equally as beautiful worn alone or layered over other colours. It looks different over every different shadow I’ve tried it with so far, a really versatile addition to my makeup bag. Just remember… a little goes a very long way with this one! It’s one of Urban Decay’s Mooniest collection and is £14.00 available online here and at Urban Decay counters.

Next up is my current highlighter of choice, Benefit’s Wattsup. This champagne cream highlighter can be used sparingly to create a subtle glow, or layered up for a more dramatic look. I also love using this on my eyes for a pretty, glowing highlight on the inner corners or centre of the eyelid. I would definitely recommend applying and blending this with your fingers (rather than directly from the stick and blending with the attached sponge) as it’s much easier to apply like this and the warmth of your fingers helps it to blend in more easily. I love this product for adding a noticeable glow without looking shimmery or glittery at all. It’s £24.50, available online here or at Benefit counters.

Last but not least for my NYE makeup bag updates is my latest mascara obsession. I tried YSL’s Babydoll when it came out a couple of years ago and didn’t really like it at the time, but having been convinced to give it a second chance by a friend, I really regret not giving it enough of a road-test before! This stuff is magic for you lashes. Incredible volume, length AND definition… what more could you ask for in a mascara?! This, combined with individual false lashes is the ultimate combination for New Year’s Eve party lashes! It’s pricey at £25, but it’s definitely my top recommendation when it comes to high-end mascaras right now! It’s currently 10% off at feelunique here.

What are you all up to for NYE tomorrow night? I hope you have a great time!
