Review: L’Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara

I haven’t tried one of L’Oreal’s Telescopic mascaras in quite some time. I loved the original and remember it being one of my favourite makeup items way back when I started making YouTube videos in 2009. When I was in the states this month, I got my hands on the newest version of the classic telescopic: Telescopic Shocking Extensions.

This new formula claims to be ‘liquid extensions in a bottle’ for a ‘new generation of lash length’. It also claims to be ‘clump free, flake free and smudge free’. I put it to the test.

The packaging is very similar to the original, just a different colour, and the brush is similar too: a rubber brush, long and narrow with a lot of bristles (apparently 200 to be exact!) Application is easy, as the brush is long and thin, it isn’t a messy mascara to apply and coats the lashes easily.

The results are really impressive. I found it gave my lashes a huge boost in length and a very decent amount of volume too. It’s a great ‘best of both worlds’ mascara, as some lengthening ones don’t give any volume at all and some volumising ones add limited length.

It stayed on my lashes all day and wasn’t a pain to remove in the evening. Overall, I was really impressed with this and would definitely repurchase it in the future. As I said, it’s been a while since I tried the original, but thinking back, I think this version does perform ever-so slightly better.

You can pick this up now in the US, where it is around the $9.95 mark (depending on where you buy it) I’m not sure about UK availability, but if anyone knows then please feel free to let me know in the comments below!
